Digital Story 3 Narritive

My name is Paul Peterson and i was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. I am 42 years old and i now currently live in a trailer by myself. My wife and 2 kids died 5 years ago from one of the deadliest hurricanes in U.S history. Hurricane Katrina cost me everything important in my life including family, friends, money and home. The news said that the hurricane formed over the Bahamas on August 23 2005 and crossed Florida causing many deaths and floods before traveling to the gulf of mexico. The hurricane weakened before hitting southeast Louisiana on August 29th 2005 and then the hurricane hit New Orleans. I was told that the levee system catastrophically failed and it all began. I was on a business trip in New York when i heard about the hurricane going to New Orleans. It was too late. I came home the day after the hurricane hit my home town. New Orleans was 80% flooded and at that moment our breezy beach house felt like the worst mistake I've ever made. My house was gone and my family was no where to be found. I was left alone searching for them for days. I lost hope after a month passed but still to this day on August 28th i gather with my survivng friends and we sit and remember all of the ones we have lost.

In my story you will see many aspects of why it is important to stay in school. It is very important to stay in school for your future, money, friends, and learn social skills that you need in life. The pictures and songs i put in my digital story will help get my point across to students on why school is so important. I think the movie will be funny and yet people can learn something from it while watching it.

Digitales evaluation graduate portfolio

After looking and evaluating 3 digitales video storys, i compared one of them that i best felt would fit with the graduate portfolio. The digitales story that i compared to the graduate portfolio is called magical moments. Compared to the graduate portfolio magically moments is "Ready for college". In magical moments the women tells her story about how ever since she was a little girl she wanted to be a teacher. She went to school and college and got her teaching diploma. After only a few months of her first teaching job she was quitting but when her young students found out they all individually wrote her a letter asking her to stay. She knew that those kids needed her to stay so she stayed at her teaching job and began to fall in love with teaching all over again. The woman was now understanding and developing new knowledge about the world. She also learned how to manage her own learning by identifying options, evaulating opportunities and organizing educational expeirences that helped her work and live in global society; these xamples connect her back to the graduate portfolio.
